Visit from Yasue and Bumpa

Matthew's parents came to visit last week. They flew into Reno on the 17th and we drove home for the weekend and Isaiah's baptism. We came back to Truckee on the 20th and spent the week exploring up here. Isaiah warmed right up to his grandparents and had a lot of fun with them. While they were here we went to Lake Tahoe, Donner Lake, the local Farmers Markets, and hung out at the pool and local parks. Matthew and I even got a few trips out by ourselves including dinner in Tahoe City. We're so glad we got to spend that time with them. We miss you already.

Isaiah's Baptism

Isaiah was baptized at church on Sunday (Father's Day). He was a little unsure of being up in front of all those people, but he did good. Happy Father's Day!

Family Visits

My (Cassie) sister and her kids (Sophia and Olivia) and my Dad came to visit last week. They stayed Monday-Friday and kept me and Isaiah company while Matthew worked. We had fun hanging out, checking out the local Farmers Market, and playing at the park and Donner Lake. We even got to hang out with my cousin David and Wendy, their daughter Tristen, my Thea Georgia, Uncle John and my cousin Jennifer daughter Arie. They were up here for a vacation and Matthew happened to run into them at the grocery store. Small world.

Matthew's parents will be out to visit this Friday and stay through the following Saturday. We are so excited to have them visit and see Isaiah again.

The Spoon

Isaiah and I have been eating steel cut oatmeal the last couple mornings; it is currently the only food he will eat from a spoon. Yesterday he decided he would like to have control of the spoon. He wasn't that good at getting the oatmeal into his mouth, so he lets me help a little. Here is a few picture of him after breakfast yesterday (he was much messier today, but not as happy).

11 Months

Isaiah is 11 months old today and such a joy. He is getting a little more brave about standing on his own and likes to walk around holding your hands, but otherwise isn't showing to much interest in walking. He is still obsessed with trucks and gets extremely excited to see the semi-trucks on the freeway. We decided to have blood drawn for food allergy test (doctor recommended it after his 9 month appointment). The test came back with allergies to peanuts, eggs, and wheat. The doctor called to say no more of these foods and I (Cassie) will be staying away from them as well. We will meet with the doctor once we move back home to get more details. Hopefully, keeping away from these foods will help his eczema.

Happy Birthday Matthew!

Matthew's 34th birthday was on Sunday. We had a nice day in Truckee. It was raining, but we got in a walk and a trip to the indoor pool. Here are a few pictures of Matthew and Isaiah yesterday.

Snow in June

It's still snowing up here in Truckee and it is hard to believe it is June. It snowed Tuesday-this morning (off and on), but we finally got a break. Isaiah and I went on a walk before lunch (it only snowed on us a little) and we went into town with Matthew this afternoon. Trying to find things to get us out of the house. Otherwise Isaiah has been entertaining himself by climbing up and down the stairs, playing with trucks, and trying to get things he is not supposed to have :) Here is a picture of it snowing yesterday.
