Michigan

We spent 10 days in Michigan (Dec. 2-Dec. 12) visiting family and friends. Isaiah did amazingly well on both plane flights and adjusted well to the time change. He loved seeing Yasue and Bumpa (Matthew's parents), his cousins, Aunts and Uncles and Great-Grandparents. He is certainly missing all the extra attention know that we are home.
Isaiah was obsessed with the goats at the Critter Barn.
We got snow on Friday and Isaiah had so much fun playing in it.

Matthew and I had a date night on Friday. We went to Meijer Gardens, out to dinner, and ice skating at an outdoor rink in Grand Rapids.

Storm

We had a big wind storm starting on Wednesday, Nov. 30 and lasting through Friday, Dec. 2. The worst of it was Wednesday night/Thursday morning. We didn't sleep much that night as we kept hearing branches pelt the roof and surrounding area. At about 3:30 am Matthew was up in the living room and heard this tree fall between the shed and house right on top of the car. On the way down it also broke the pipe for our propane tank (luckily it didn't hurt the valve so we could turn it off) and pulled down all the electrical wires (PG & E was parked by our house so they shut if off right away). We were heading out for Michigan on Friday morning, so it made for a busy day on Thursday trying to clean up and pack without power, gas or warm water.
The tree that fell on the propane tank.

The tree crushed the Volvo. So sad. We just got it 6 months ago.

Picture from the front of the house. We were glad the tree didn't fall on the house.

Happy Thanksgiving

We hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We had a great day at Cassie's mom's house and went to a Christmas tree farm with our friends Carrie, Jer and Saige the day after Thanksgiving.
Playing in the leaves.

Family at the Johnson Christmas Tree Farm.
We went on a hayride at the farm. Everyone gets to take a pumpkin for a game at the top of the hill. The tractor stops and everyone gets out and to roll their pumpkin down the hill and if it rolls through one of the tires you win a cookie. Isaiah's pumpkin is the one on the ramp leading up to the tire (it stopped a few feet short).
Isaiah loved the tractors.

Isaiah likes to sit on the chair and read books by himself.

Happy Halloween!

Isaiah had a busy Halloween, trick-or-treating with his cousins downtown in the afternoon followed by a party at Frontier Ranch with friends. Isaiah and his friend Saige dressed up as a bride and groom. I must say they looked pretty cute.

Pumpkin Patch

"Pumpkin Barrow" ride with cousins.

Isaiah loved driving the tractor.

Picking his pumpkin.

Look familiar? We have the same photo of Isaiah at the pumpkin patch last year.

15 month appointment

Isaiah had his 15 month appointment today. He was 33 inches long (90th percentile) and 23 lbs. 9 oz. (30th percentile). Doctor said everything is looking great. He is so much fun. He is walking everywhere (attempting to run at times) and climbing on everything. He still loves his trucks, being outside, walking in the creek (getting to cold for that now), reading books, and his Daddy.

Apple Picking

My mom and I took Isaiah apple picking last Saturday. Isaiah wasn't too much help, except when it came to eating the apples. He tried to take a bite out of every single one.

Mini Vacation

We went on a little mini vacation (one night) to San Rafael (Marin county, just North of San Francisco). We had a great time hanging out at the hotel and going for a hike.

The hotel had a coi pond in the lobby. Isaiah loved looking at the fish. He would have really like it if he could have swam with them.
Hiking in San Rafael. Beautiful views, but the weather wasn't great.

Family shot taken into a mirror. To bad it was so dirty. :)

First Rain

We had our first rain of the season today. Matthew and I spent a good part of the afternoon trying to get our wood stacked and covered so it wouldn't get wet. When Isaiah woke up he joined us. Here are a few pictures of Isaiah playing in the rain.

Isaiah found a banana slug.

Playing with Daddy, his favorite person in the world.

He is trying to put on his favorite t-shirt (he pulled it out of his hamper). It has trucks all over it.

Just hanging out with the family on Sunday afternoon.

Eating his yogurt this morning. Isn't he cute.
